At The Place for Children with Autism, we celebrate the uniqueness of each child. We believe that not all children learn the same way and that learning is not a one size fits all endeavor.
Our Autism Therapy Services
The Place for Children with Autism provides comprehensive autism therapy services for children with autism using Applied Behavior Analysis, or ABA therapy. Our ABA therapy treatment program for children with autism, ages 2 – 6, focuses on increasing communication levels, improving social skills, and developing independent living skills.
The goal of our ABA therapy for autism program is to prepare children for the transition into a traditional school setting by reducing specific challenging behaviors that interfere with learning or developing interpersonal relationships.
Individualized Autism Treatment
Every child and family in our program receives a comprehensive, personalized autism assessment prior to treatment. Based on the autism assessment, a customized treatment plan is developed for each child, focusing on goals like speech therapy outcomes, toileting, and developing communication and social skills. Assessments then occur approximately every six months, allowing our clinicians to observe changes, review progress with parents, and target areas that may still need improvement.

ABA Therapy Methodology
We set individualized goals for each child to be addressed during group therapy sessions as well as one-on-one direct therapy provided by a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). The RBT collects data during therapy and reports to the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). That data is then used to assess progress and make adjustments to therapy as necessary.
Based on the goals set laid out in the individualized treatment plan, our clinicians focus on principles like positive reinforcement to encourage positive behaviors and increase the likelihood that the child will want to repeat those behaviors. To get the best outcomes, ABA therapy activities take place in a structured setting which mimics a school setting. Additionally, parents or guardians are trained to maintain a similar structure at home.
Parent and Caregiver Support
Parent training and parent or caregiver education play an important role in our ABA therapy model, ensuring the skills taught at our centers are consistent at home and in community environments. The Place works with parents or caregivers to help them better prepare for their role in their child’s development as well as addressing the quality-of-life goals and needs of the family.

Our trained staff utilizes numerous assessment tools to pinpoint your child’s current capabilities. Once we have identified your child’s current behavioral and academic levels, we then develop individualized programs to meet his or her needs. These programs are then carefully monitored using our customized software programs. As your child advances we adjust the programs accordingly. As a parent, you are also able to monitor your child’s progress by logging into her or his individualized programs.
