Need an autism evaluation for your child? We can help.
The Place for Children with Autism Congratulates Dr. Jessica Hewetson Gruber, PhD

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Jessica Hewetson Gruber, PhD in Applied Behavior Analysis! The Place for Children with Autism extends our sincerest congratulations to Dr. Gruber for recently completing her Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Behavior Analysis from The Chicago School.

Dr. Gruber started her journey in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2008 working in a preschool classroom with young autistic learners. She quickly fell in love with working with learners with diverse needs and decided to pursue her master’s degree in special education.

While working on her master’s, Dr. Gruber worked as a behavior technician and was captivated by the science of behavior analysis. After completing her master’s degree in 2012, she decided to pivot her career into becoming a behavior analyst and hasn’t looked back since.

After five years in the field as a BCBA, Dr. Gruber decided to pursue her PhD in Applied Behavior Analysis to expand her knowledge of the science, as her experiences in ABA led to a passion in instructional design and staff training.

Dr. Gruber’s dissertation focused on using computer-based training to teach behavior technicians to implement an incidental teaching procedure to evoke communication from autistic learners.

We commend Dr. Gruber on this huge personal accomplishment and are excited for her to share and apply her knowledge in her continued work to help shape the clinical department at The Place for Children with Autism.
