Behavior Technician

Job Description

The Behavior Technician provides one-on-one (and group) ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy to children ages 2-6 on the autism spectrum under the supervision of a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). Treatment is provided on site at a center-based facility. Reporting hours are 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday and monthly mandatory meetings until 5:30pm once per month. Initial training and RBT training are provided. 

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one therapy to assigned therapy caseload (typically 2 children per caseload) 
  • Implement lessons, teaching plans and behavior intervention plans as designed by the BCBA or Assistant 
  • Demonstrate fluency and competency in basic ABA principles and methodology 
  • Obtain RBT certification within 90-day probationary period 
  • Attend required trainings and meetings 
  • Maintain data tracking systems as part of the child’s medical record 
  • Represent The Place for Children with Autism in a positive and enthusiastic way to all internal and external stakeholders 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Required minimum of high school diploma or equivalent 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Must pass criminal background check 
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred, but not required 
  • Experience working in healthcare, education, or child care related field 
  • Physical requirements: ability to lift up to twenty pounds, bend at the knee and squat for up to one hour per day, and ability to follow a child without restriction throughout the center, sometimes at a rapid pace, to contain elopement behaviors.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Supervisor

Job Description
The Behavior Technician provides one-on-one (and group) ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy to children ages 2-6 on the autism spectrum under the supervision of a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). Treatment is provided on site at a center-based facility. Reporting hours are 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday and monthly mandatory meetings until 5:30pm once per month. Initial training and RBT training are provided. 

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise client caseload of up to 12 clients (may increase with clinical supports – ie Assistant Manager and BCaBA) 
  • Conduct initial and ongoing client assessments and based off these assessments design and create top quality individualized treatment programs 
  • Oversee and maintain accurate and organized client notes, data, and reports for tracking and auditing purposes 
  • Provide supervision for candidates in approved programs (RBT, BCBA and BCaBA) 
  • Train staff and /or family members to ensure appropriate implementation of the behavior support plan (ie – all staff meetings, monthly parent trainings, parent workshops, etc.) 
  • Evaluate effectiveness of the behavioral intervention plan by means of direct observation and analyzing data and making necessary adjustments and updates to optimize progress. 
  • Conduct regular mentor meetings and established performance evaluations for clinical staff and provide feedback in areas of strength or improvement 
  • Maintain positive, driven culture amongst therapists, clients and their families 
  • Ensure centers are well maintained and organized; communicating structural or facility issues to the COO immediately to ensure they are addressed 
  • Represent The Place for Children with Autism in a positive and enthusiastic way to all internal and external stakeholders 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification required 
  • 2+ years in a supervisor level position preferred 
  • Established management skills 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
