This presentation is geared towards parents who have a child with autism.

This presentation is geared towards parents who have a child with autism that are minimally verbal and are looking for information on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). The purpose of this workshop is to educate parents on the different types of low-tech and high-tech AAC options, the AAC team, and myths about AAC and speech/language development. The evaluation process, implementation, and role of the speech therapist will also be discussed.

About the Speaker: This presentation will be conducted by Dana Gartlan. Dana Gartlan, MS, CCC-SLP/L is a speech-language pathologist and owner of Spot It All Therapy, providing in-home speech therapy services in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Dana is experienced in working with children with complex communication needs that require AAC.
