Autism & Medicaid: Accessing ABA Therapy

Do you have a child with Autism and Medicaid Insurance? Are you looking for autism therapy (ABA) but are struggling to find an ABA provider that is in network with Medicaid? The Place for Children with Autism can help.

In Illinois, Medicaid has historically not covered ABA therapy. As of May 2022, Medicaid will cover ABA therapy in our state but as this is new legislation, many ABA providers, including The Place for Children with Autism, are not in network with Medicaid. Families unable to access ABA therapy is concerning given that ABA therapy is recognized as the most effective intervention by the US Surgeon General and by the American Psychological Association for autism.

We are still committed to our mission in helping families with Medicaid access therapy and avoid potential waitlists that might be encountered with the few providers who do accept Medicaid.

This workshop is designed to go into detail on the process of how The Place for Children with Autism can help. The Place for Children with Autism can help connect you with resources to obtain private insurance plans that cover these essential autism services, and our Family Support Services team can assist you in identifying grant opportunities to help offset the cost of these plans.

Important Note: These workshop series only occur one time per year. Open enrollment is between November 1st and January 15th.
