Family Support Services

The Place for Children with Autism offers family support and training to help you prepare for your role in your child’s development. Given that each child has different goals, parent or caregiver training meetings are individualized per the needs of the child and the needs of the family.

Parent and Caregiver Training

Parent and caregiver training is a great time to collaborate on not just the clinical recommendation of the BCBA, but what goals you would like to work on to improve your family’s overall quality of life. Parent or caregiver education is a requirement in our program to ensure that the skills we teach your child in the clinic will be consistent in the home environment. In addition to your individual training, we host expert guest speakers to provide group training sessions for families in our program.

We require all families to engage in parent training meetings at a minimum of once a month. During these meetings we will discuss your child’s progress, address any concerns you may have, and focus on teaching you the basic ABA principles to ensure you have a good understanding of how to support your child during their development process.
