Do you have a child with Autism and Medicaid Insurance? Are you looking for autism therapy (ABA) but have been told Medicaid will not cover such services? The Place for Children with Autism can help.
Historically, Illinois has been 1 of 4 states in which Medicaid did not cover ABA therapy. This year, in May of 2022, Medicaid has agreed to cover therapy in Illinois but with very tight restrictions that has led The Place for Children with Autism and many other ABA providers to not be able to be in the Medicaid network. Right now, many families that have a child with autism and Medicaid insurance are either not able to obtain services or are on extremely long waitlists.
This is alarming given that ABA is recognized as the most effective intervention by the US Surgeon General and by the American Psychological Association.
The Place for Children with Autism helps families with Medicaid access affordable insurance that covers ABA services and utilize our grants department to help reduce the costs of the plans. Last year, we helped over 80 families obtain insurance and begin ABA therapy at one of our centers or with a provider of their choosing.
But how? This workshop is designed to educate and start the process of working together to obtain private insurance plans that will cover these critical ABA services. We will guide your family in choosing the right plans and provide resources to help leverage the costs.
Important Note: These workshop series only occur one time per year. Open enrollment is between November 1st and December 15th (Insurance being active Jan 15th, 2023)
