About the Speakers: Raquel Batrez is the owner and lead speech language pathologist at The Place for Speech. She specializes in early language and speech sound development in young children. Emily Kaiser is an certified and Illinois licensed Speech Language Pathologist. She loves working with autistic children, specifically targeting language and speech sound disorders.
About the Host: The Place for Children with Autism is an award winning and accredited ABA provider. The Place delivers play-based autism therapy (ABA) to children ages 2-6 and has 15 loations throughout Illinois. The model is unique in that services are provided in a full day (8am-4:30pm) school-like setting with activities such as circle time, music, art, dance and other social activities throughout the day. Each child has a 1:1 therapist with goals designed to increase 1) Communication 2) Social Skills 3) Independent living skills (e.g., toileting, dressing, feeding) and 3) prepare children for the school environment.
