The Place for Children with Autism offers ABA therapy for children ages 2-6 in a preschool like setting. The goal is to increase communication skills, social skills, independent living skills (i.e., toilet training, etc.), and reduce challenging behaviors that interfere with learning. In addition, The Place for Children with Autism works on the vital prerequisite skills to ensure children are successful when they transition to school with the overarching goal being eventual mainstreaming into general education classrooms. Each center employs trained Registered Behavior Technicians (e.g., 1:1 therapists) and Board Certified Behavior Analysts. The Place for Children with Autism services underserved communities in the Chicagoland area and surrounding suburbs and will be expanding to more locations from now until 2022.

Autism Support

The journey of autism can be overwhelming, especially for a family with a newly diagnosed child. How do we deal with this unexpected turn in our lives? Which types of therapies are right for my child? Why doesn’t Medicaid cover these services? The process of finding the right provider should not be taken lightly. At The Place for Children with Autism, we take the time to educate our families of their options. We invite all families to come tour our centers and meet with an outreach specialist.
