At The Place for Children with Autism, we celebrate the uniqueness of each child. We believe that not all children learn the same way and that learning is not a one size fits all endeavor.
What is ABA Therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a research-based therapy grounded on the science of learning. There has been over 30 years of research demonstrating the efficacy of ABA in decreasing challenging behavior and increasing communication, socialization, and independent living skills.
ABA therapy works to change behavior over time and encompasses many techniques, learning theories, and behavioral principles. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the US Surgeon General have endorsed ABA as being an effective intervention for individuals with autism and this is especially true when ABA is started early (i.e., early intervention). Therefore, ABA therapy is provided for children ages 2-6 at The Place for Children with Autism.
